We are pleased to announce the following course from the
Doctoral Program StarOmics
and organized by the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics<br>
<br>
<b>"</b><b>Genetic Diseases - exome and complete genome
sequencing and interpretation"</b>.<br>
<br>
This four-day course, which will be held in Lausanne during the
week of 7- 10 April 2014, will be dedicated to the exome and
complete genome analysis, the use of genetic-based data as well
as variant identification in two domains, human genetics and
cancer variation.<br>

<u>Objectives:</u><br>
At the end of the presentations and practical sessions,
participants are expected to have a clear understanding of
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html;
charset=ISO-8859-1">
<b>genome variation</b>, how <b>to perform GWAS</b> and <b>exome
analyses</b>, and how to apply these techniques in
translational research.<br>

<u>Requirements:</u><br>
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html;
charset=ISO-8859-1">
Skill requirements: Participants should have a good
understanding of command-line UNIX in order to perform the
practical exercises.<br>
Material requirements: A WiFi-equipped laptop with 3-4GB of RAM,
40GB free hard-disk space and virtualbox installed. You will be
given a virtual machine image with all softwares and packages
needed for this course.<br>
